Summer Camp at Akelaland
This year eight of our scouts, two leaders, and two courageous parent volunteers again traveled to Akelaland to enjoy a fun filled week of summer camp! Our boys camped for the week while they swam, shot archery and BB, enjoyed campfires, boated, played gaga ball and of course, enjoyed the snacks at the trading post. Summer camp is a wonderful week filled with all the activities that scouts love to do in the outdoors and is a great opportunity for advancements that they may not have a chance to do while at den meetings. This year the theme was Akelaland Castaways, where they went on a treasure hunt and even got to cheer on our cubmaster while he tried to paddle across the pool in a boat made of cardboard, duct tape, and fun noodles. The kids had a blast!!! Hope to see you all there next year.
Pack 86 at Putt U
In late July, our scouts attended a fun day of mini golf at PuttU! They all golfed a mean game through the water traps, sand traps, and winding greens. In fact, our scouts our scout did a tackled the same course that was used for the 2016 US Open for Minature Golf! Though there was no big check waiting at the end of the course, in the end, the scouts and families all had a great time and came out winners.
